Cruel Tricks

Interesting how February is the shortest month of the year, even with the added day in 2008, and it is still the longest fucking month, next to March. March, by the way, sucks. I should be doing my Structure homework that's due tomorrow at 11am but damn I'm tired. I've been tired lately because I don't get a lot of sleep on Mondays and Tuesdays... actually I don't sleep at all. But not to go into that here. Another cruel trick is frozen precipitation falling from the sky in any form, and the threat thereof. Weathermen are liars and I was almost cheated out of a good time last night because of this threat of ice. Ice is bullshit anyway. Whoever thought of ice falling from the sky? Think about it. And snow. I mean, hard, cold, slippery forms of water falling from the sky. It's awful.

In short, Spring Break starts February 29th and I need it more than a streetwalkin' whore needs sex and money.

Thoroughly Displeased

So I come back to UMW on Sunday. I turn on my laptop, and it promptly turns itself off. This whole procedure is repeated many times. Yes, I was, in fact turning it on, and yes, it was plugged into the wall and to the laptop, and no I did not spill water on it. In short, I have NO laptop until further notice, as mine is now currently in the hands of Best Buy's Geek Squad and the prospects look rather grim. The guy, who was very nice, said that it wouldn't be worth it to spend a lot of money on the laptop since it is 3 years old and I could easily get a new one for a third of what I originally paid for my Toshiba Qosmio G15. Nonetheless, they have it and are currently backing up my documents, music and photos onto DVDs. So, unless it's a software issue or an easily repairable hardware issue, it looks like a new laptop is in order. Hopefully most of my stuff on the Qosmio will be saved so I can transfer what I need to onto the new laptop. Sucks though since I now have no way of watching DVDs or going online, unless I use my roommate's laptop or I go to a computer lab.

Man, and I JUST totally cleaned up my laptop too. But, as the Geek Squad guy said, it's going to happen one way or another.

And of course, my warrenty JUST ran out. When I called Toshiba originally, they informed me that it would cost somewhere in the league of $500 to repair what they thought was the issue, which I had no intention of doing. Oh well. C'est la vie.
